Solar Light

Eight years ago, I designed this “African Solar” system. I designed it to use basic components -- and cheap -- to be twisted together with one's fingers if desired. This design was ridiculed by an electronics editor -- although he tends to do that. But by now, the design has provided light for a room for eight years every day, and still going. That is well beyond the average life of such a system. OBSERVATION: My own unit uses a 10 W solar panel, a small 1.4 Ah 12V battery, and a 1.5 W LED light (80 candelas). This design is  © Copyright.
