Line Drawings

As I head towards a publisher's deadline, there is a range of line drawings I need to standardise, and of which I need to vastly increase the resolution. These serve the purpose of illustrating concepts. In this, I took an example from Copernicus' Revolutions, among others. There is one new drawing over previous drafts (shown). Variables a and b exist in a closed system, but the result is delivered to an open one. OBSERVATION: The railway line illustrates an unwitting mistake that British Rail made. They designed their network within a closed system, which started to break down under global warming.
