Original Thought

I had an article rejected yesterday on my first attempt at publication. It is about a "wall" behind which one cannot pass when discussing consciousness. The reason for rejection -- the only reason -- is that it "engages in original thought". I can think of some others who would be rejected for original thought: Plato, Descartes, Kant, Wittgenstein, Derrida ... OBSERVATION: From one point of view, this is funny -- but I misjudged the publication. Although it requests "original" material, it does not entertain innovative material -- and mine is innovative. There are "unoriginal" publishers. Just one example: Encyclopaedia Britannica.
