Throughout my ministr(ies),
children have taken on many of the responsibilities of
adults
-- although not as often. Not seldom have we appointed a child to say a prayer on a Sunday, to give original spiritual input to the congregation, to lead the worship team, and so on -- and then the more ordinary tasks such as welcoming people at the door, taking a reading, or helping at the fĂȘte. This child is here saying the prayers at my late wife's funeral.
OBSERVATION: I don't think I have once regretted appointing a child to such tasks, and many times have I been impressed.
