The Infirm And Disabled

I had dinner this evening in a Jewish home. An elderly hostess spoke to me about the common custom of Jewish, African, and Mediterranean cultures to incorporate the infirm and disabled in their everyday lives. I knew this in the mission in the Pacific, and I know it from my wife's clan. But it is different for those of central or northern European descent. In ministry, this means that a minister of my culture will often be called upon at a time of major transition -- a transition which in other cultures will be less traumatic, or may not even exist.
