God's Punishment (Not)

I went to see an elderly congregant who was seriously ill. The distressing thing about it was that, as she declined, she became more and more panicked. It was written all over her. Her husband opened the door one day, and said almost immediately: "She's dying." But a change had come over her. I said: "You are not as well as you were, but you are a lot more peaceful." She said: "It's because you said that God isn't punishing me." OBSERVATION: It is common for Christians to think that God is punishing them. If they truly know the Lord, it isn't punishment. This further reveals what a difference a minister can make, by virtue of being a minister.
