The time during which I have done electronics -- then electronic design -- has been one of the most interesting on the planet. Transistors first came into wide circulation after my birth (I still used spot transistors), and bipolar logic became popular in my teens (inflexible items by today's standards). At that time it was still an achievement to design something as simple as an electronic coin-flip. Today, a knowledge of the basics may hardly be needed any more. There is now a kind of super-electronics that runs parallel with the old. OBSERVATION: An electronics designer, a friend of mine, says he is living in a dream now. What he does in his workshop today was science fiction not so long ago.
