I went to see a man once who was terminally ill -- but at home, with round-the-clock care. I pulled up a chair and sat down by his bedside. That very moment, he suffered a seizure. His wife said: "He does that when he gets excited. He's excited that you're here." OBSERVATION: Ministers are likely to come across such situations, in one form or another. What to do? When they had settled him, I spoke to him "like old times" -- although he could not reply. I read a Psalm and expanded on it, then said a prayer.
