After All That

I suffered a crisis once in city ministry when I put a Youth helper (not leader) out of Youth. The Youth leaders demanded it, and I did it. As in all such cases, however, it needed then to be referred to the members. Before it was, I came under heavy criticism, and pressure to put the man back -- and the Youth leaders were under a cloud, too. We didn't know at the time that he was a paedophile. Today he is in jail, which is a tragedy. Anyway, last week I met one of the Youth leaders and told her he was in jail. She said just three words: "After all that." OBSERVATION: Frankly, people should have listened to me some other times, too.
