I took this photo last year, as I tested my dual channel magnetometer design. I did this high above the city, on the slopes of Table Mountain, where my device would be free from magnetic noise. I used a tiny 9mm by 2.5mm neodymium magnet -- which triggered the magnetometer at the distance shown (the magnetometer is at the post). This experiment proved that the magnetometer picked up a few nanoteslas' changing magnetic field, which means that it was extremely sensitive. OBSERVATION: The design was published by Silicon Chip in Australia. A Google search will find it with ease.
