It's a photo of me in the doorway of my parents-in-law's home on the plateau, under a magnificent night sky (you may click on the photo to enlarge). In just a few days' time, they will leave the plateau forever. We never thought it would be so sudden. OBSERVATION: It is the end of an era, and I was privileged to see it. My father-in-law, and his brother-in-law next door, were descended from the Black Trekboere, and as young men still owned Trekboer beasts. They called them "Reds". I presume they mean Kalahari Reds. They still lived within sight of the mountains where their ancestors roamed. That will now be past.
