Living Link

I photographed this copse on the slopes of our local peak Lion's Head.  Many people do not realise that these trees, and many like them, are a living link with the Huguenots -- French Protestant refugees of the 17th Century.  Apparently they imported them for their seeds, which are edible -- popularly called pine nuts.  You may click on the photo to enlarge.
