I posted this in 2007. It addresses a dilemma which many Churches grapple with. What are our priorities? The preservation of our material goods, or spiritual ministry?
"Our Church’s Junior Youth can be wreckers. It is not out of the ordinary for them to smash windows, or lights (we lost two of them last week), or cupboard doors. But we’ve been solving some problems, too. No more hard balls -- and the curtains must be closed for ball sports indoors (this protects the windows). OBSERVATION: We want to put these youngsters before the preservation of our material goods -- and not to restrain them too much in things they enjoy. The point is, we want to introduce them to Christ. The damage is small by comparison."
