Curious Copy

In February, I met with an estate agent in a restaurant, to sign a mandate to sell my country cottage. It was an open mandate. I asked the agent if we could sign a duplicate for me, but he said he didn't have one. He would send me a copy. The copy didn't come. This week, he said that I had granted him sole (not open) mandate. That can have major consequences. However, I had done as I always do -- I didn't walk away without a record. I photographed the mandate across the restaurant table. The image, with corrected perspective, is almost as good as a photocopy. I sent it to the agent, without ado. OBSERVATION: An estate agent must provide a copy of a mandate. It is obligatory.
