Harry Butman

I once had the privilege of meeting a "founding father" of Congregationalism in the USA, two years before his death at 101 years of age. He lived in a mobile home in the desert -- so that he could maximise his giving, he said. As if it were his last will and testament, he instructed me at length about Congregationalism. I took this photo before I left. OBSERVATION: Harry Butman was central in the founding of the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches in the USA, which (the last I heard) includes about 440 churches and 100 000 members.
