Invention 25: Linguistic Forecasting
I believe this ... realisation is original. I believe it could be important. Words mirror concepts, and word frequency fluctuates over time. This means that we may trace the emphasis we place on concepts -- singly or in combination -- historically or diachronically. Does such emphasis forecast historical events? I tried it. On the surface of it, I found that I could forecast wars and (less so) presidential elections. OBSERVATION: I could have written a paper on this, but the research would be hard. Feel free to share, but do mention the source of the idea. © Thomas Scarborough.
