Literary Low-Down

This somehow slipped the net of my blog. I have been seeking a literary agent for my magnum opus. I checked on my situation with a (perhaps the) leading literary consultant, and was pleasantly surprised with free advice. I have received many plaudits for my work, from literary agents, but still no contract. So I did a "reality check". The consultant said firstly, you haven't run the course of literary agents. You think you have, but no. Broaden the field. Secondly he said, you have revised enough of your work in a year to re-submit to agents who so far declined. As a third possibility he said, approach publishers not agents -- but that can be an all or nothing approach. You may be burning bridges.
