I said to someone today that ministers occupy a curious thought-world, I find. We are the ones who minister to the Trumps of this world, after they have been ... trumped. He replied that we minister to the trumped that Trumps leave behind. It is of course both. Ministers deal continually with people (now speaking more generally) who do not deserve attention or sympathy or help. A nurse once said to me that she treated patients cruelly if they did not deserve her sympathy. Ministry is different, and so should nursing be. In the case of ministry, there are people who might not seem to deserve a minister's sympathy. However, the question is ... if this is someone God has a purpose with.
