COVID-19 has finally reached the distant town of my parents-in-law. Mortality has been quite high -- about 0.2% of the whole population so far -- and one assumes that those infected are a smaller portion of the whole population. OBSERVATION: There was a vast gathering of townsfolk during the first lockdown (above), because it precipitated a food crisis. Community leaders pleaded for calm and discipline. I myself have seen the later effects of lockdown there, which has led in many cases to indigence.
