Fluke Success

I had, I thought, a brilliant idea. I built two ring oscillators which could not work independently of each other. Independently, on paper, they both looked dead. But if I would bring them together through inductive coupling, I thought, a metal detector might spring to life. In fact it did. Then I switched off, switched it on again, and ... I didn't get it going again. OBSERVATION: I can guess what went wrong. Some fluke interference got it going the first time, which wasn't there in subsequent attempts.
