Pre-Suicide

There is something in the Russia-Ukraine situation that reminds me of counselling in ministry: perhaps one could call it pre-suicide. This is where people either threaten or actually do precipitous things. They commit suicide not with themselves, as it were, but with things that surround them. Not only do they leave their career, or their family, or their social group, and so on, but they radically cut them off, kill them, so to speak. OBSERVATION: It is a radical form of the flight response, which itself is related to suicide. It may be a sign of too much pressure.
