A young woman once called me up. She had bargained with God, she said. She had given up her “big sin”. Now God should save her from cancer. In any case, the hospital had mislaid her records, she said. There was no point in going back while those were gone. But she was experiencing numbness and swelling. OBSERVATION: I saw two problems here. You can’t bargain with God of course. God is sovereign. And while she bargained, she allowed a broken hospital system to dictate the pace. It was a recipe for death, sadly.
