Mother's Day

It is Mother's Day today in South Africa. This is a photo of me with my mother in the snow, in Sheffield, where I was born. I think it was the winter of 1961/1962. My mother is now eighty years of age. It seems rather amazing that this photo survived, considering where it went and what happened to it. It was more than a little pale, so I restored some of the contrast before I put it here. You may click on it to enlarge to 240k. OBSERVATION: About the time of this photo, my mother assisted a United Nations translator. Born in what is today Szczecin, my mother learnt English to a very high standard. I use a commoner's English, by comparison. Happy Mother's Day.
