If ever there were troubles in the Church, my late wife would ask me: "What's the big picture?" By this she meant: here we see perhaps ten minutes of a person's performance, in this particular context -- in a meeting, at a function, on the telephone, and so on. Remember that this is just a slice of something far larger. What's the big picture? OBSERVATION: The big picture may may be cause for sympathy or understanding. Or it may not be a pretty scene. And so on. And often, one will never know the big picture.
