Suicide More Acceptable

I read this week that suicide has increased one-third in the United States in the past twenty years -- and all over the world, suicides are rising. During my own ministry, attitudes to suicide have greatly changed. I sense that this plays a major role in increased suicides. My own view of suicide is a "soft" one, in that I do not condemn it -- but I say that one has destroyed the work of God which he was going to do. But suicide now may be called heroic, a courageous act, a humane course, a liberation, and so on. Ministers -- even for a "soft" view such as mine -- are repudiated. OBSERVATION: I think that a right spiritual perspective prevents many suicides, but various views that are in circulation do not. And there is life after suicidal thoughts and intentions.
