Flexi-Time

I took this photo many years ago, at sunrise, on the way to the office. It reminds me of a minister's schedule. Mine has been quite flexible, and I think this is required for any lively or chaotic ministry. Not only is it impossible to tell what happens next, but it is important to allow oneself recovery time. Early in my ministry, I tended to fit me to the schedule -- later in ministry, I tended to fit the schedule to me. OBSERVATION: One has to do this, because ministry is punishing. Say one is called out in the night, or mediates an explosive situation, or is present at a deathbed. One should not carry on as though these things never happened.
