Memories

I got to thinking this morning of memories of my fifth year of life. I remember the docks of Southampton, the Pillars of Hercules, orange trees in Naples, contorted figures in Pompeii, camels in Egypt, a great sand-storm over the Suez, terror in Aden, the Great Australian Bight (pictured), the giddy heights of Banaba, and my father in the ocean surrounded by sharks.

POSTSCRIPT: When seeking a photo of the Bight, none of them matched my memory. My memory is of the Bight from below.
