Nicked Notebooks
Alas, Darwin's notebooks are presumed stolen. It reminds me of a raid in which my own notebooks were targeted. I offered a R10 000 reward for their return, together with sure information as to where they had been. Three out of about ten survived (one of which shown). They formed the basis of my first edition metaphysic, which was published by the Philosophical Society of England. They include (some very personal) thoughts: my own thoughts, other people's thoughts, and experimental thoughts. They reveal, too, who I've been reading: Aristotle, Marcus Aurelius, Luther, Marx, Peirce, Freud, Gandhi, Derrida, and a host of others.
