In South Africa, there is a wine of high repute, simply called "Nagmaalwyn" (pictured). It is Holy Communion wine, typically used in the Dutch Reformed Church. Since it is available not only to the Church, but to the public, it is popular among connoisseurs.
OBSERVATION: What
is it, actually? Liquor outlets categorise it as "local other fortified" or "export quality dessert". One producer calls it, more exactly, "fortified hanepoot", which is fortified
Mucat of Alexandria, a wine steeped in history.
